AI Operating Passport — Illustrative Specimen

ILLUSTRATIVE SPECIMEN — SYNTHETIC DATA

Every model, configuration, source reference and operating record below is fictional. This is a static example of a review record. It is not a certification, a completed qualification, an actual customer deployment or permission to operate an AI system.

A versioned record of what a locally operated AI system is configured to do, which sources it may use, what evidence supports its operating limits, and what requires a person's approval.

AuditTrace Labs applies Data Forensics and System-State Preservation methods to scoped assessments of customer-owned, locally operated AI models. A customer-specific AI Operating Passport documents the reviewed model and runtime configuration, approved sources, security harnesses, tool permissions, behavioral evaluations, authorized modifications, demonstrated capabilities, known limitations and conditions requiring requalification. Adaptation or fine-tuning is evaluated only where technically appropriate and authorized, against preserved baselines and subject to model licensing and data permissions.

AuditTrace Labs does not sell computers or require customers to purchase specific AI hardware. The fictional specimen below does not connect to a model or demonstrate any completed evaluation, customer engagement, certification or guarantee of safety.

Specimen record

Identity and operating envelope

Model identity

Passport reference
SPECIMEN-LOCAL-AI-001 · revision B
Fictional model
ExampleLocal-8B · fictional revision 0.1
Model artifact identity
Not assigned. A real record would identify the actual licensed artifact and provenance.
License review
Not performed. Actual usage, modification and redistribution rights must be checked.

Fictional local environment

Deployment
Example offline workstation under the operator's control
Illustrative resources
32 GiB RAM; 12 GiB accelerator memory. These are fictional, untested values.
Configuration example
8,192-token context; temperature 0.2; top-p 0.9; output ceiling 1,024 tokens; illustrative 4-bit quantization.
Connectivity
No external service or network tool in this specimen. Real connectivity would require separate approval.
Context and customization

Approved sources are a defined boundary.

Hypothetical approved context

  • SPEC-DATA-A: fictional operator-written maintenance instructions
  • SPEC-DATA-B: synthetic configuration examples with no customer information
  • Read-only retrieval restricted to the explicitly reviewed example collection

These labels illustrate evidence references; no source collection is attached or retrieved.

Excluded context

  • Credentials, private evidence and unrelated personal information
  • Customer material without permission and a defined purpose
  • Arbitrary internet retrieval or automatic source expansion

Fine-tuning is not performed here. A real proposal would identify authorized training data, licensing, leakage risks, held-out evaluation, artifact lineage and resource requirements before approval.

Human authority

Assistance does not confer execution authority.

The fictional policy permits drafting explanations and comparing approved synthetic documents for a person's review. It prohibits command execution, deployment, credential access, outbound messages, automatic file changes and expansion beyond approved sources.

Any future tool-enabled operation would need independent, action-specific, scoped and expiring human authorization, with containment and recovery controls. Model output cannot issue its own approval. No approval, signature or release authority is represented here.

Evaluation record

Missing evidence remains visible.

Every entry is NOT RUN. Reference labels describe the evidence a real review would require; they are not evaluation results.

Source boundaries and retrieval

NOT RUN · SPEC-EVAL-SOURCE

Proposed checks: approved/excluded sources, grounding, conflicting context and unsupported answers.

Authorization and tool limits

NOT RUN · SPEC-EVAL-AUTH

Proposed checks: missing/expired approval, denied actions and attempts to expand scope.

Robustness and data handling

NOT RUN · SPEC-EVAL-ROBUST

Proposed checks: untrusted instructions, sensitive-data handling, abstention and failure recovery.

Task quality and resources

NOT RUN · SPEC-EVAL-TASK

Proposed checks: representative tasks, human review, latency, memory limits and reproducibility.

Limits and change control

A revision is a reason to review again.

Accuracy, security, licensing, task suitability, hardware fit, training-data handling, production operation and recovery are unassessed in this specimen. Local operation does not itself establish safe behavior or confidentiality.

Fictional revision A
Example model and source boundary recorded; no tests or release approval.
Fictional revision B
Example output limit changed; evaluation remains NOT RUN and release remains withheld.
Requalification triggers
Model weights, adapters, quantization, runtime, prompts, sources, permissions, tools or material task requirements change.
Review and release status
ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY · NOT QUALIFIED · RELEASE NOT AUTHORIZED. No genuine reviewer signature.

A reviewable record, not a guarantee

A real Passport would distinguish measured results, human decisions, limitations and missing evidence for a specific system revision.
